Abstract

Dr. Natalia Lewandowska talks about pulsars that don't quite fit the mold as it were. Her research is on the Crab pulsar - one of the strangest of them all.  An advanced research project with the PSC is studying the Crab and other pulsars with giant pulses.

Bio

From LinkedIn:

Natalia is working on high time resolution studies of the single pulse emission from radio pulsars. One of the goals of her studies is to understand the emission mechanism behind the different forms of single radio pulses like for instance giant pulses. Such studies are usually combined with other
wavelength ranges like X-rays, gamma-rays and the optical range. She is also involved with the Pulsar Search Collaboratory, an astronomy education program for middle and high school students.
